Jehovah's Witnesses - Are they loving?
by brotherdan injehovah's witnesses love to claim that they are a true religion because they are the most loving people on earth.
they rant and rave about how they apply john 13:35 to themselves.. in a recent conversation with djeggnog, i was shocked at some of the hateful things that he was saying to me.
now i know that i have been in some pretty heated debates with others, but i try to never make it personal.

Are you a fader, Df'd, DA'd, or Still In?
by brotherdan ini thought this would be an interesting poll that would show everyone the backgrounds of all of us when we left, if we have.. for myself, i am not df'd, but i am attempting a fade.
i still go to some meetings with the wife to help with kids, but that's it.
no commenting or field service.. what about everyone else?.

Born in JW, never bathtised and faded for almost 13 months now, some family members are shunning me. This is what i get for emailing everyone the shephearding of flock book, watch out everyone! just wait till I get my old wathctower references out. I was playing their own game but it turns out secret literature and old light can be considered as apostacy and even though I am not a JW and I was forced to go to meetings when I was young people are giving me the cold shoulder. Me and my good intentions..

We all know how many are CURRENT JDubs, but what is the total number of EX-JDubs?
by sinis ini was wondering if anyone had a stat on how many ex-dubs are out there that are comprised of df'd, da'd, faded, etc.
basically, how many ex-jdubs exist outside of the realm of the ~7 million or so current and faithful jdubs... from the beginning of this cult until now (including those that have died) - rough idea..

A "Chartered Bethel" is a Masonic Term Relating to Their Many Organizations
by cameo-d inthis organization is truly international in scope.
at present there are bethels in the united states, canada, australia, the philippines and brazil with other countries expressing interest.. the international order of job's daughters is operated in a democratic manner, similar to masonic lodges as well as other masonic family organizations.
in bethels, adult co-workers known as the bethel guardian council (consisting of a bethel guardian, associate bethel guardian, and others) supervise each bethel and are appointed yearly - with special consideration given to recommendations from the members of the bethel.. .

Russel, though not listed as a freemason, as others have point out he used the knights templar symbols on the left and right hand side of the zion's watchtower, and he was buried under a pyramid next to a masonic hall. He would had know that masonic has a separate creed from christianity e.g. burial ceremony so this gives me impression that Russel was a very liberal christian all the way to 1917 when he kicked the bucket.

Is the American empire on the brink of collapse?
by slimboyfat inhistorian niall ferguson made some extended remarks recently arguing that the american empire may be closer to the edge than many suppose.. he starts out observing that while the fateful decline of american supremacy is now widely accepted, it is still generally expected that this will be a protracted process.
after all empires don't fall in a day.
rome took centuries to crumble did it not?

Asia has not been buying US bonds in a long while, there is always something the media keeps quiet. People are starting to realise that a small minority of people in power have control and dont really care about the welfare of countries, these own huge corporations that legalise un-ethical practices, take a look at the US dollar, go back one one year and see the drastic change for yourselves.
The way this economy system works, and you can verify this by looking into the history of post WWII how America, Germany, Italy and Japan became strong powers, is faulty, they need to spend more and kill more people to fix the problem.
Dont believe me? watch this

Watchtower claims Armageddon will come when US is no longer a World Power
by Alfred injust when i thought the wash towel was done trying to interpret the book of revelations, i came across this from paragraph 16 on the last page of the march 15, 2011 watchtower.... .
the urgency of the times we live in is underscored when we consider the inspired prophecy at revelation 17:10. the seventh king, the anglo-american world power, has come into existence.
concerning it we read: when he [the seventh world power] does arrive he must remain a short while.

They will do the old "Oh we never said these were prophecies, its just our opinion" mentioned in the 1993 Awake! Why so many false prophecies, and then claim new light.

Atheism, the absence of someone to pray to.
by cyberjesus ini was talking several days ago with a believer who was telling me what an atheist is.
i personally do not have any gods, therefore i consider myself an atheist.
however this person was telling me that an atheist says there is no god.

^^^if I made it sound like a strawman I didn't mean to, you can not define something you do not know, I never said I didnt believe in a God I just dont know(or not entirely sure)..like any other agnostic.
you wrote "My position (and i believe i share this with 90% of all atheists) is that any God i have heard about has insufficient evidence to be accepted as true, and often evidence that goes against it being true (like with jehovah)."
I agree, any God I have heard about has insufficient evidence but what if its something we never heard or can not understand, this goes back to my old posts atheists dont know everything, I'm sure you would like that idea but Atheism can only go so far.
